Two-Win Wizards Campaign For Four All-Stars (New Traditions!)

I was going to link to this but decided it needs its own post. Do the Wizards really think a 2-15 team deserves four All-Stars? Do the Wizards really think any of these four have played to the level of an All-Star?

I understand marketing, and engaging the fan base. I get that. BUT, I think the majority of fans and media think Nick Young and Andray Blatche need to be cut, dismissed, or bought out from the team. Immediately. Sentiment is split on JaVale McGee, but either way the guy isn’t an All-Star.

That’s right, most fans want those two gone, but the Wiz brass wants you to vote for them as All-Stars. I know because of gumshoe reporting the image above was taken from the front page of the Wizards’ website.

John Wall is the only cornerstone this team has. He has been playing well of late. But with point guards like Deron Williams, Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo in the East, Wall isn’t an All-Star. Yet.

If I’m voting for anybody, it’s Jan Vesely. Just so he brings his girlfriend.

“I understand marketing, and engaging the fan base.”

AND, to play devil’s advocate, there’s something to be said for having your players’ backs. If the organization wants to develop its young players, “supporting them” is important, and this is arguably one way to do that.

Having said that, I 100% agree. Fuck Blatche and Nick Young with a rusty chainsaw.

“Hi Honey great news, I got a new job as the Wizards head of PR!”

“See if you can get your old job as a jizz mopper”

Positive reinforcement that what these guys are doing on the court is not what this franchise needs.

What they need is the threat of relegation.

“Sentiment is split on JaVale McGee”

His mom vs. everyone not his mom?

Javale’s not a project worth abandoning yet. He’ s a crazy athlete and has developed his offensive game from last year.

He may be immature but with the right people around him he could be a top 5 center with time. Just needs to learn how to play within his role.

He’s also just as good if not better than Haywood was for us at this point in his career.

If the ping pong balls go the right way either Kentucky’s Anthony Davis or UConn’s Andre Drummond will push Javale and Blatche into becoming better players.

Caron and Antawn campaigned on their own behalf for the all star game in the 08/09 season–the worst season in the history of the franchise. No one complained about that. I understand the dislike for Young and Blatche–they’ve certainly had their difficulties maturing on and off the court and have never lived up to their promise as very gifted athletes. Still, this isn’t a big deal at all. Teams that suck still promote their players for the all star game. It’s a fact of life.

First of all, Young has never been in trouble off the court and is one of the hardest workers on the team. He was a 16th overall pick, so I’m not sure what all of you “fans” are expecting. He is a starting 2 guard in this league that looks worse on a horrid team. (This is for all of the players on the team. When Wall plays well, stuff opens up for the others)

Second, given all of the centers in the league, McGee is in the top 25% of them (most centers suck, but still). I don;t know what people are complaing about there either.

Yeah, Blatche sucks, so I actually agree on that.

Btw, Young is not going to be on the team next year, and he CAN start on a good team.

Every team campaigns for all-stars, so in the end this post was completely worthless, so I don’t even know why I responded!

Javale’s only a top 5 center if we’re talking about the Southeast Division.
