The Wizards Are So Bad They …

This post isn’t quite fully baked, but I wanted to publish it before the Wiz did something crazy like win a game. So here to make up for my negligence is Andray Blatche, goaltending a free throw:

Now, with that disclaimer out of the way, the #WizSoBad they …

… are the NBA’s only remaining winless team (0-6).

… are off to their worst start ever, which is saying something.

… have lost three of those six games by 18 or more.

… haven’t won more than 26 games or been out of the league’s bottom four since 2007-08.

… turned Flip Saunders from a coach with a .595 career winning percentage into a coach with a .299 percentage since coming to Washington.

… have lost 42 of 45 road games since John Wall was drafted.

… have seen Wall regress in his second season (32.9% from the field).

… have a leading scorer (Nick Young) with less than 15 points per game.

… still have Blatche, Young and JaVale McGee as featured players.

… have yet to see No. 6 overall pick Jan Vesely take the court.

The upside of all this suck, however, is cheap tickets. Take it away, TiqIQ:

Thanks to their rising young roster—the Washington Wizards led by John Wall look to rebound from their early season woes. Want to check out a game at the Verizon Center but don’t want to break the bank? Thanks to the “Pick Your Price” feature – now you can!

Want to check out Wizard as they take on Melo and the Knicks? With an offer around $20 each on two “2-star” tickets they can be yours for over $20 off the total price. Gotta be in the building for Wizards/76ers on Saturday the 14th? With an offer around $15 each for two “2-star” tickets you can save $15 off the total price. As always with “Pick Your Price” deals you don’t pay any Service or Shipping Fees! But act fast, you don’t want to miss out on these savings!

I mean, you’ve gotta be in the building, you guys.

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.

I just read this and Boswell’s column. Wiz fans need to be worried about whether Wall’s getting the right coaching, I think. I mean, it should be great that Sam Cassell is on the staff, but the results haven’t been there as of yet for Wall.

I worry that the fact that Wall is on such a terrible team, with so many clowns Blatche), low basketball IQ guys (McGee), gunners (Young, Crawford) and washed-up players (Lewis, Mason, Evans) that he feels pressure to do too much.

I think Wall could do what Rondo does (at least young Rondo, Rondo has years of experience on Wall at this point), but he doesn’t have the right coach, the right team structure or the right players around him to play to his strengths right now.

Is there any other solution besides riding out this season and hoping to land another stud player in the draft?

The Bullets took Rasheed Wallace one pick before Kevin Garnett. And the list goes on.

The Wizards are so bad they…are called the Wizards. I just can’t pull for them since the name change. I want my Bullets back.

    New Traditions!

(that joke never gets old. Bog needs to interview the marketing guy/gal that came up with that.)

It’s probably still better than the Redskins’ infamous “The Future Is Now” slogan of 2010.
