Thanks For Coming Out Colt and Chase, But the Skins Are Set With Two QBs

And the backup to the backup QB isno one. Colt Brennan has been placed on the IR list for the season with a myriad of injuries no one seemed to know about. And Chase Daniel has been cut.

This raises the question: What the fuck? I mean, really, I don’t care who the Skins third string QB is. (As long as it’s not Colt Brennan.) But why would you wait until after the preseason to cut both bros who were competing for the role? Were they really on the fence with Chase, and just hoping he’d WOW their socks off with a 300-yard performance against the Jags practice squad? I realize Vinny Cerrato thinks conventional wisdom is for pussies, but if you weren’t planning on keeping Colt or Chase, it would probably make sense to bring in another QB, like, anytime before a week prior to your first regular season game.

So, the Skins are now left with two QBs. Which means they’ll most certainly be in the market for a free agent to fill the backup, backup role. Or maybe they’ll just keep five RBs on the roster. You just never know with the Redskins WHICH IS WHY THIS TEAM IS SO FUN!

What’s that? I’m being told that Joey Harrington is now available. Shit …

UPDATE: Chase decides not to sign on with Skins practice squad, opts for New Orleans instead.

UPDATE 2: Skins will add QB Andre Woodson to practice squad.

I believe that Jeff George is still available.

And your back-up played 2 series in the preseason. That’s confidence. Watch em pick up Brunell or Ramsey if they are released.

I can’t believe that they’re satisfied with just 2 QBs. Let the fun begin.

Giants are going w/ 2 QBs, nobody seems to be having a conniption about that. Besides, it’s not like Colt has been cut. Like him or not, Zorn wants him to stick around and he will, on IR. He wasn’t competing for the starting job this year, and didn’t beat out Todd Collins either. But how often do you use a 3rd string QB anyway? Now we’ve got an extra roster spot for Mason.

What about Jeff Garcia? If he’s not good enough for the Raiders backup, shouldn’t he be good for the skins 3rd string?

I’m all for Jeff Garcia…but there’s not a shot in hell he’s content with being the backup of the backup.
