Ted Leonsis Is Very Concerned About ‘The Bloggers’

Ted Leonsis, who probably didn’t read our “Eight Reasons This Year’s Wizards Are Already So Depressing” blog post, had this to blog about his 0-3 team:

It is all within. It all depends on the point of view of the writer. It is all fair game. We must be accountable and we must win some games to calm down the bloggers – tonight would be a good time to start.

The Wizards host the Bucks tonight, you see, and Mr. Leonsis is concerned about the bloggers, it seems. I’d suggest he also be concerned about the fans, and the rest of the media, and his own organization, as well as the players, oh yeah and the NHL lockout, but whatever. I’m hoping for a win too.

Tickets include access to unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, soft pretzels, ice cream and sodas at a designated concession stand. Check out the promo here or go straight to Washington Wizards ticket listings here, and enjoy.

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.

Ted is concerned with one thing: $$$. He can eat shit and get the fuck out.

Get the fuck out? Hey, it took Leonsis a few years with the Caps; now they are annually playing playoff-caliber hockey. On top of that, he has turned the Capitals into one of the most marketable teams in the NHL. You can’t put these successes solely on #8, either; Leonsis and Ovechkin are correlated and not mutually exclusive.

I get the frustration with a group he is a member of, but I wouldn’t criticize Leonsis too much for the lockout. Of course, I don’t know the details of what is going on behind the scenes, but I would guess Leonsis is one of the more liberal in the NHL-Owner-World; I doubt he’s one of the sticklers on this deal.

But, yes, Ernie is a jackass and Ted’s internet personality is tired. I’m just saying, the grass isn’t always greener.

Still, the “All You Can Eat Seats” is a bit extreme. They have to assume that the person buying into that promotion is sharing with his friends. Who goes to a professional NBA game and eats more than 3 hotdogs? Or one hot dog, one pretzel, some popcorn, and a drink? Those examples can’t equal $30, and, excluding beer, there’s no way I spend $30 bucks at an NBA game. You know they definitely weren’t planning some kind of “sharing promotion.” Seems like a trap.
