Redskins-49ers Predictions

Let’s use this Carlos Rogers Bowl as an opportunity to never forget that he posed with our Snyder Sucks shirt while being gainfully employed by the Redskins.

I think we all know how this works. We make predictions, you make predictions, and the reader who comes closest to predicting the final score gets to make a guest post. Hip-hip!

(Note: The Derper won last week’s contest, so he’s next man up.)

Matt Terl: 49ers, 24-9

That west-to-east trip takes a lot out of a team, which will help keep the margin of defeat more reasonable than last week.

JP Finlay: 49ers, 17-14

The only things certain in life are death and taxes, right? Because by any logical thought process, the Niners are a sure thing playing the Skins on Sunday. But there are some weird factors at play. My barometer is usually set by Vegas, and this game has an oddly low line, San Fran is only laying 3.5. I’m picking the Skins to lose, but keep it close.

Chris Mottram: 49ers, 33-0

/checks to see if John Beck is really still the starting QB

Redskins lose 33-0.

Andy Peden: 49ers, 31-10

Carlos with a pick six is too obvious so I’m saying Carlos with a Beck sack, strip, fumble return for a TD. Last week was not rock bottom.

Todd Davis: Redskins, 17-16

Niners have met their breaks-quota for the year and I just refuse to believe a professional team won’t even try at all two weeks in row. Zero clue how the Skins get to 17, but I’m having a morning beer so why not!

Jack Kogod: 49ers, 24-10

Me: 49ers, 20-13

Composite prediction: 49ers, 24-12

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.

    November 4, 2011 at 2:35 PM

    44-13, 49ers.

  3. JGP

    November 4, 2011 at 2:39 PM

Skins shock the world! Grossman enters at the half with the Skins down, say, 14-3, and brings the team back.

    Skins 23-Niners 21

  4. Mike Bradley

    November 4, 2011 at 2:57 PM

17-14 and here is the kicker, no FG’s blocked and Gano hits a 53 yarder for the win with under 1:35 to go.

  5. Kevin Robertson

    November 4, 2011 at 2:57 PM

    49ers 26 Redskins 10

  6. Phil Reed

    November 4, 2011 at 3:02 PM

    Niners: 28, Skins: 13.
    Beck: 16 for 25/205 yds, 1 TD, 2 Picks and 4 sacks.

    49ers 27
    Skins 13

I think 13 pts is a long shot for this team

  8. matt

    November 4, 2011 at 3:10 PM

    Skins: 17
    Niners: 14

Total trap game for the team with flowers in their hair…..this prediction is also a total reach.

  9. Sam P

    November 4, 2011 at 3:11 PM

    33 – 7, 49ers.
Every situation I can see leading to those 7 points is depressing.

  10. Chris

    November 4, 2011 at 3:12 PM

    Skins 13-10

I don’t know why, but this is what I’m going with.

  11. Joe Z

    November 4, 2011 at 3:15 PM

    Skins: 7
    49er’s: 23

The offensive woes continue. The defense will make the plays in the first half to keep us in the game until they tire out in the last half.

  12. Philip

    November 4, 2011 at 3:18 PM

    49ers: 42

  15. DBeck

    November 4, 2011 at 3:35 PM

    Redskins – 10
    49ers – 27

Rex starts the second half and somehow leads Skins to TD on first drive and then sucks the rest of the way…

  16. The Bashin

    November 4, 2011 at 3:44 PM

20-14 Redskins. SF doesn’t throw the ball well enough to address the horrid eight to ten yard bumps they give receivers. The LBs will play a yard to two closer to the line of scrimmage and force Alex Smith to beat them. I think we have one defensive TD, give up one long TD run to Gore and hold on.

Beck determined not to get sacked 9-10 times makes early decisions… that lead to 4 interceptions and a touchdown. Rex warms up but we don’t get the ball back with Gore wearing out the D. 49ers 31-Redskins 16 – Gano gets a game ball for field goals that miraculously aren’t blocked

  37. FC

    November 5, 2011 at 9:54 AM

    Niners 38

Until convinced otherwise, I am not convinced the Skins can score a touchdown.

guys guys guys… its our offense thats an embarrassing miserable failure, not our defense. Still, Frank Gore will have a fine afternoon.

i bet 50 dollars on the redskins winning. I’m a fucking idiot. Redskins win it 15-13. sigh.

  44. Carlos

    November 6, 2011 at 7:13 AM

    Niners 27-3.

    The Beck Era ends.

Meanwhile, I love that the WaPo this AM finally caught on to how horrible this roster is. Others, like Football Outsiders, noticed that before the season started (and before last season started, the season before, etc. etc.).

  45. Ketel on Rocks

    November 6, 2011 at 7:35 AM

    Skins 13-10

The game will be totally unwatchable, except for C-Rogers’ record setting 7 pick day (you just know it’s gonna happen).

  47. The Derper

    November 6, 2011 at 11:12 AM

    49ers 26, Redskins 7.

49ers control ball all game long. Skins booed off field at halftime. Rex comes in 2nd half. Leads team to garbage time TD.

  48. SkinsNation

    November 6, 2011 at 12:29 PM

    Skins 17-13

Kevin Durant makes a surprise appearance and catches two TDs. Frank Gore gets injured in the first quarter and Alex Smith throws 4 picks.

    I hate football.

  49. Donk Donkerson

    November 6, 2011 at 12:40 PM

    21-9 San Fran wins it.
Beck is pulled for Grossman, who throws a pick and is replaced by Babe Laufenberg,(sp) who is then replaced by the Warner Brothers dancing frog.

  50. Robear262

    November 6, 2011 at 1:10 PM

Understand I’m late so this wont count, but the strip club took a lot out of me. Yes I’ve resorted to low activities like that to make up for the fact my team is garbage. Niners won’t run it up too bad. 24-13 niners win, but rodgers drops the ball and reminds us why we’re happy Shanny’s in town
