Friday, September 7th, 2012As you’re aware, there was little dust-up between the Nats and Cubs on Thursday night after Chicago tried to bean Bryce Harper. Back-up catcher Steve Clevenger explained why after the game:
“You’re up 7-2 … you don’t swing 3-0 in that situation.”
Mind you, this occurred in the FIFTH INNING.
Clevenger’s ridiculously stupid notion got us [...]
‘He Doesn’t Know Me From a Hole in the Hill’: Davey Vs. Maddon Video
Thursday, June 21st, 2012Here’s an outstanding mash-up of the War of Words between Davey Johnson and Joe Maddon, thanks to CSN Washington (Via the Bog):
And in case you didn’t already realize Maddon is kind of a shithead, there’s your evidence. Maybe someday he’ll realize the high road is the best road, something Davey already knows. Also: cool shades, [...]
DMV: Caps’ Jay Beagle Loses Fight, Goes Into Dentistry
Friday, October 14th, 2011Jay Beagle, who’s a lover, got into it with Arron Asham, who’s a fighter. The result? A brutal scrap that ended with Beagle pulling a tooth out of his mouth as he was helped off of the ice. [Puck Daddy]
Asham caught heat — and apologized for — his post-fight antics. [PD]
The Caps, BTW, beat the [...]
Video: Steve Blake, John Gilchrist Fight From Nine Years Ago
Thursday, August 25th, 2011Via Dime, here’s video that just surfaced of rising senior Steve Blake getting into a fight with incoming freshman John Gilchrist during an offseason pick-up game at Cole Fieldhouse in 2003:
Blake now trains in the Art of Mixed Martials during his down time, which presumably means he no longer fights like this.
Hey Look! The Caps Are Playing Again
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008We have no problem admitting that we do not care at all about hockey, except for if it’s playoff time and the Caps are still in the hunt. Then we’ll watch, unless a particularly good re-run of The Office is on TBS. Having said that, we are always willing and able to enjoy a good [...]
Red Sox Fans Are Classy, Arrestable
Thursday, May 15th, 2008The other day, commenter MDT left this beauty on a post about the O’s beating Beckett and the Sox:
Made the trip up for that game last night. Lots of fun. 8-man brawl in the upper deck, for starters, and later the jumbotron’s Fans of the Game, about 13 guys spelling out LUUUUUUUUUUKE on their shirts, [...]
Green Might Wanna Keep the Gloves On
Wednesday, April 16th, 2008Caps defenseman, and great hair icon, Mike Green should probably stick to the scoring (three goals already in the series) and forget about the fighting. He got into it last night with Philly’s Scottie Upshall. It was the first fight of the series, and exactly zero punches were landed:
Lame, I know. There’s probably a reason [...]
Mark Rypien’s Cuz Has a Strong Left
Tuesday, March 18th, 2008Thanks to FanHouse (by way of Hockey Fights) comes video of Rick Rypien — the cousin of Redskins “legend” Mark Rypien — throwing down last night:
Well done, young Rypien. According to Hockey Fights, this is Rick’s fifth NHL fight of the season. He started the year 0-2 in his on-ice bouts, but has won his [...]
Donald Brashear Has a Strong Left Hook
Sunday, March 9th, 2008If you’re gonna trifle with Brashear, first keep in mind that he sees no need to drop his gloves before he rearranges your face:
Brashear is a man who takes his fighting seriously, as the always reliable wikipedia informs us:
He has trained with boxing legend Joe Frazier as well as legendary UFC Champion James “Hoss” Skelton. [...]
S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Fight!
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007Thanks to the Wizard of Odds, there is finally some video of Saturday night’s post-game rumble between football powerhouses North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T. These two teams will see FIU-Miami’s helmet swinging and raise them pepper spray:
It’s about time we had a good brawl this season. What is it, Week 5?
And remember, [...]
