Redskins-Vikings Predictions

Here’s our staff’s completely scientific predictions for tonight. Make yours in the comments. Whoever is closest to the actual outcome wins a guest post on this here weblog.

Andy Peden: Redskins, 23-18

If the Skins win, sports talk radio will be unbearable for the next 10 days.

Chris Mottram: Redskins, 34-17

This is finally the week the Skins win an easy one. They continue to feed the run game and the defense forces multiple turnovers. Regardless, I don’t have to hear a damn word of D.C. sports talk radio.

Matt Terl: Vikings, 24-17

I am so excited to have a reason to get invested in the generally terrible Thursday night game that I can’t even come up with an appropriately apocalyptic scenario for how they’re going to lose. It’ll be something to do with the short week of practice plus travel plus the sheer overwhelming excitement of being in Minnesota. Use your imagination.

Jack Kogod: Redskins, 24-13

I still hate everything about Thursday Night Football.

JP Finlay: Redskins, 30-17

They win again. Defense is starting to play better, a bit anyway, and Ponder sucks.

Todd Davis: Redskins, 17-16

Horrible game, but they eke it out!

Jamie Mottram: Redskins, 27-24

You know, Minnesota almost won at Dallas last week, where the Redskins lost by 15. Still.

Composite prediction: Redskins, 25-18

  1. By the way, I think that’s Joey Browner getting beat by Ricky Sanders. Browner will be protesting the name tonight.

    DC 3
    MINNESOTA 2

Oh wait, that’s my Caps prediction.

    Gridiron:

    DC 20
    Minnesota 24 :(

  2. prediction: skins, 27-24

over/under on how many wings i eat tonight at quaker steak & lube: 19

how much longer can this team go without a major injury?

  3. Skins 28
    Vikings 3

We cruise. Backups in late 4th quarter.
No way I can stay awake past 11 PM…so I hope this pans out.

  4. I’ll go with the flow here and think the Skins win this one with relative ease. I don’t know if that will actually happen because the skins never do it the easy way. If they contain Peterson and control the ball…
With the short week, I don’t think the shanny’s had the opportunity to outsmart themselves, so I see lots of FroMo in this one and not a whole of exotic formations.
The wild card is, as always, the special teams. Minny’s kick returner is their #2 offensive threat. I worry more about him than Peterson.

    Skins – 27
    Minny – 13

  5. 33-17 Burgandy and Gold. Finally a good team victory certain from the start. Hall with a fumble recovery for a TD. RGIII with a 30+ yard run. Alf with 145 yards, no TDs.

  6. 28-20 ‘Skins.

Kai misses another fg (40-50 yarder) but we score td’s in the red zone – 1 for Alfred, 1 for Jordan, 1 rushing for Bob Thrizzle, and 1 for Logan Paulsen.

Cordarelle tears us up in the return game but does not find the endzone.

  7. These Thursday Night games have been dreadful, mistake filled gaffe-fests. To that recipe we add one really lousy team and another that is shockingly mediocre on aggregate. I’m totally flummoxed as to how this will play out. On one hand, the Redskins are a better team and Christian Ponder is terrible, on the other, they’re due for a good pants crapping that leads to much weeping and gnashing of teeth. I think we’re all flying blind here, so with that said….

    Chuck Browns All-Stars: 35

Morris Day and the Time: 24

  8. Jim Ed, More smug commentary please! I dont think I get enough of it on this website. Its like every comment is a bad audition to be an op ed columnist at the examiner.
