    Redskins-Eagles II Predictions

    By Jamie Mottram | December 21, 2012

Hey, let’s play Predictions! Last week’s winner is Nomad, who nailed his Browns game pick and should have a guest post coming. A reminder on how it works, for the uninitiated:

Our Redskins-loving “staff” makes predictions in the post, readers make predictions in the comments, and the commenter who comes closest to predicting the final score gets to make a guest post. Hip-hip!

    Chris Mottram: Redskins, 27-17

Foles is playing better and McCoy is back this week, so it’ll be closer than their first meeting. Still, the Eagles are not good and Washington continues to improve. Even with all our collective Redskins pessimism, I don’t think Philly will pull off the upset. And even if they do, there’s still next week.

    JP Finlay: Redskins, 33-17

The time for skepticism is over. This team is good. Philly is bad. Our shared sports torture haunts us from the proper confidence going into this thing.

    Matt Terl: Eagles, 24-21

I … I just … you guys, I still just can’t do it. I really appreciate JP’s inspirational speech, and I appreciate how good this team is, and I understand that all the “statistics” and “logical indicators” say that the Redskins should win this game, but I cannot shake the feeling that it’s all going end horribly. This week seems as likely a time as any. In summary, I’m a shattered wreck of a football fan.

    Andy Peden: Eagles, 24-20

I was confident that we will win, but then I realized I will be watching from a sports bar in Dallas. Since I expect this to end painfully at some point, I’ll assume it’s this week when I have a bunch of Cowboys fans around me.

    Todd Davis: Redskins, 35-24

Another slow start, but the Skins are getting better at dropping the hammer and leaving their foot on the floor after they get warmed up. Hate that McCoy is back and Eagles will probably be better offensively with Foles than the first time, but too much firepower from the good guys. (Wait, what did I just say?!)

    Jack Kogod: Redskins, 34-17

I don’t even know what to add to this. I’m super confident and it’s kind of freaking me out. Nothing about Philly worries me in the least. Oh god, we’re totally going to lose.

    Me: Redskins, 27-21

This mix of confidence plus anxiety sure is unusual and intoxicating!

    Composite prediction: Redskins, 28-20

Trap game? Probably. Just blind faith that the burgandy and gold can turn it up that extra notch on the road.

As long as D’Angelo Hall stays on Santa’s nice list, the Redskins should pull this off.

41-17 Redskins. It’s time to revisit 40 and a Kerrigan defensive TD. Royster adds another garbage time TD.

Solid start, some missed chances, Eagles come out and make it competitvie early, 17-10 at the half. Second half defense gets on a roll, RG airs it out and Kai keeps the pressure on.

The Browns last week was the trap game. If the skins can drop the hammer early, the Eagles aren’t going to get back up off the mat. They’re the NFL equivalent of Glass Joe in “Mike Tyson’s Punch Out”.

RGIII is motivated after last week’s break.

Garcon spins the ball numerous times. Morris has a multi-homer game. RGIII is wonderful. The commentators suck. DeAngelo Hall acts like a bitch. Rob Jackson does something good.

I hate this game more than I should.

      Skins – 27
      Eagles – 17

This is only because I can’t fathom the thought of the skins getting thisclose to the division only to blow it vs a shitty eagles team. Dammit.
