Two-Win Terps Just Lost Their QB

    By Jamie Mottram | August 15, 2012

Maryland starting quarterback C.J. Brown tore his ACL and is done for 2012. He wasn’t very good mind you, but he was the best Maryland had. Which means improving upon last year’s two-win disaster is largely up to unheralded freshman Perry Hills (or maybe fellow freshman Caleb Rowe).

Remember just two years ago when the Terps finished top-25 and Danny O’Brien was ACC Rookie of the Year? Yeah, seems like forever ago.

Update: A sampling of emails I’ve received from Mr. Irrelevant Maryland contributors Andy Peden, JP Finlay and Brad Parker:

Well, we can turn our attention to basketball a few months earlier. Really excited about Shaq and Layman. I think Faust is going to be a beast this year.

What bad luck. I feel bad for the kid. This team is going to SUCK

I’m at the beach and this just drastically changed my mood. I really had no idea what to think about this team this year, now I do. Thank God Anderson forced out Fridge so we could move up to greatness. The guys are right to just start thinking about basketball. I can’t wait to watch Turgeon’s team and find out if the Harrison twins will be joining the fun.

C’mon Maryland! Quit giving people from JMU that live in the DMV area more misguided optimism that they have a watchable product and/or are relevant.

One torn ACL closer to that bag of dicks head coach being dismissed.

I love hearing from Chokies fans. Have you guys picked the two key games you will blow on your way to another 11-2 season? I also look forward to hearing how you were “screwed” by the refs in the Independence/Weed Eater Bowl. Go Dukes!
