  1. Great OFB piece on Semin. Really want to hear from all the McPhee And Leonsis apologists now for how we have gotten better this off season. Pathetic

  2. @JDP: An OFB piece that is, per usual, both midguided and short-sighted. The author seems to think you can build rosters in a fantasy land where there is no such thing as a salary cap or planning ahead, and the market realities don’t exist. Parise wasn’t coming here, Doan wasn’t coming here, which left fucking NO ONE available in free agency.

In terms of raw production, the Caps will actually be better off replacing Semin with Ribeiro, and for less $$ at that. Wolski is a potential 20-goal guy signed for pennies who will be playing on a last-chance contract. Backstrom is healthy. One of Johansson and Perrault can become a 20-goal scorer. If they don’t, there is cap space to make a move mid-season if one becomes available.

That OFB piece is the mouth-breathers attitude articulated perfectly.
