Kogod and I on the Phone, Talking About McNabb’s ‘Outrageous’ New Deal

    By Jamie Mottram | November 16, 2010

The Monday Night shellacking happened, but yesterday’s bigger happening was McNabb’s new deal, and here’s KSK’s Jack Kogod and I discussing it on Dan Levy’s On the DL podcast.

Give that a listen, if you like, and/or read our super-salient points in bullet form:

    – I was more upset about the McNabb trade than the McNabb contract. Still am.
    – The McNabb contract was the inevitable conclusion of the McNabb trade.
    – With the benching and the bright lights of MNF, the timing was really weird.
    – The timing wouldn’t have been so weird if the Skins had gotten a bargain, but the Skins didn’t get a bargain.
    – We couldn’t really agree on whether the money matters or not, but we can agree that the money “is just outrageous.”
    – All this means for Michael Vick is that he won’t be able to use the Redskins to drive up his price this offseason. He did enough of that last night.

That is interesting. So, if the Skins tank, they still have the option to cut McNabb in the offseason.

The contract seems a lot more reasonable now that some of the details have been made available.

Well, no, they didn’t get him at a bargain. They got him at Tom Brady money.
