I’ve never seen the pic before, but it comes via SI, so it’s almost certainly legit.
As for the backstory, all I know is that it was taken circa 2004 (the year Ovi was drafted), so it must’ve been either leading up to or during the Athens games.

The 2004 Entry Draft took place in Carolina. They took the top rated prospects on a publicity tour around Raleigh. I think one of the places they went was to a minor league baseball game (I think Durham Bulls). This may be from that.
