Giving Thanks for Those 1991 Redskins

    By Jamie Mottram | November 25, 2009

This year’s Saints are the NFC’s first 10-0 team since the ‘91 Skins, but New Orleans still needs one more victory to match the 11-0 start of that great Washington team, which finished 14-2 before routing three playoff games to win the Super Bowl. How good were they? Mark Rypien was sacked seven times all season. Their average point differential was 16.3. And so on.

Those were the days, man, and, considering every season since, especially this one, I’m thankful for that. That, and the fact that I still have this October ‘91 issue of SI at my Grandma’s house, probably in near-mint condition.

Most underrated team ever! I was only in 4th grade when it went down but I new something amazing was going on.

I’d love to through up so knowledge and say it was mine, but instead go to http://bleacherreport.com/articles/171887-1991-washington-redskins to remember the glory days.
