Redskins May Be Interested In Signing Larry Johnson, Naturally (Update: Or Not)

    By Chris Mottram | November 9, 2009

Via WaPo’s Rick Maese, here’s what Zorn said during today’s presser when asked about the possibility of bringing in the recently released Larry Johnson:

Zorn says “we’ll be talking” about signing a RB. Said the Redskins spoke about LJ. “I dont know” if we’ll have interest [...] Zorn on Larry Johnson: “I need to have a longer conversation than Ive had to make a decision”

Of course this makes plenty of sense because Portis will be out for Sunday’s game, leaving the Redskins with a complete lack of rapidly declining running backs on the depth chart. Think of it as Shaun Alexander 2.0, but this time with more sass and a side of gay-bashing. Plus, Shaun Alexander 1.0 worked out so well, so it’s totally a no-brainer.

Also: Levi Jones is the team’s starting left tackle on Sunday with Heyer moving to right tackle, and Chris Horton may go on IR with a toe injury. Given what proceeded that sentence, both of those bits of information don’t look so awful anymore.

UPDATE: Ryan O’ Halloran tweets that a source informs him the Skins are not interested in signing Johnson. Still waiting on a source to tell us that Levi Jones isn’t actually our starting left tackle and that this was all just a horrible nightmare.

The photo is almost as disturbing as the quote.

Notice the curly W over LJs shoulder… is that some sort of subliminal message?

It makes all the sense in the world for a 2-6 team that has no hope of making the playoffs to sign a 30 year old washed up running back with a history of off field problems.

Looks like fans really want LJ.

Unless LJ knows how to pick up two D linemen stunting or knows the pull assignment for a LG, he should not be in a Redskins uni.
