    Redskins-Eagles II Winners & Losers

    Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Abbreviated, unresearched edition here as I watched the game in multiple locations with babies, grandparents, friends from home, etc.

    WINNERS
Rocky McIntosh – His hit on a goal line stand that was followed by him crawling and pounding the ground was the highlight of my day. That, or the new Lost Dog on Columbia Pike.
    Chris Wilson — [...]

Giving Thanks for Those 1991 Redskins

    Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

This year’s Saints are the NFC’s first 10-0 team since the ‘91 Skins, but New Orleans still needs one more victory to match the 11-0 start of that great Washington team, which finished 14-2 before routing three playoff games to win the Super Bowl. How good were they? Mark Rypien was sacked seven times all [...]

Should Wizards Change Back to Bullets?

    Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

I’m glad Ted Leonsis will likely be the new owner of the Washington Wizards. Not because he’ll be better than Abe Pollin was, or whatever, but because someone has to take over, and I’m glad it’s Ted.
He’s local, he’s rich, he’s smart, he’s savvy, he’s digital and he’s had success owning the Verizon Center’s other [...]

DMV: The Redskins Are Looking at Jimmy Clausen as Their Next Quarterback

    Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Yesterday in South Bend, there was a “Redskins scout at practice intently watching – shocker here – Notre Dame’s QB drills.” So it begins. [@ChiTribHamilton via @dcsportsbog]

    Abe Pollin, 1923-2009

    Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Wizards owner Abe Pollin, a great Washingtonian, died today.
The news just broke, and the tributes are pouring in from all sides. We’ll link them as we see them, and thanks to Getty Images for the above photo. It was taken in 1975, three years before his Bullets were NBA champs.

DMV: Gilbert and Brendan Start Chirping

    Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Haywood blames the Wizards’ 3-9 start on “ego.” Gilbert leads the team in shots while also having the team’s lowest shooting percentage. Arenas blames the 3-9 start on “hidden agendas” of free agents to be. Brendan is the team’s only prominent pending free agent. This is not good. [Wiz Insider]
Mike Miller may be hurt, which [...]

    Redskins-Cowboys Winners & Losers

    Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

    WINNERS
Rock Cartwright — It seemed like curtains for the run game when Ladell went down early, but Rock ran well and did damage in the pass game too (career-high 140 yards from scrimmage). It was almost enough.
The defense — Shutting Dallas out for 55 minutes and giving up only seven points is quite a feat. [...]

DMV: Antawn Returns With Guns Blazin’

    Thursday, November 19th, 2009

On a night when Gil and Caron couldn’t score and DeShawn bobbleheads were given out (ed. note: Want!), last season’s team MVP returns with 31 and 10 as the Wiz beat the Cavs for the fifth straight time in D.C. [Wiz Insider]
