DMV: Strasburg Arrives With a Whimper

This time next year Stephen Strasburg will be starting Game 1 of an NLDS, having his name engraved on the NL Cy Young trophy and shooting fireballs from his arse. For now, though, he’s making his pro debut in the Florida Instructional League, where he struck out the first batter, gave up a run and threw 95, which does not compute, because we all know he throws 103 and doesn’t allow runs. Maryland should probably be 5 or 6 spots higher than 17, at least for this decade. They did win a title in 00s.
Reminds me, were under one month until Terps basketball!

The Terps are clearly better than 17th based on the fact that they won a title and went to another Final Four. I believe the rankings counted the NCAA tourney wins all the same, as in the win over Cal in 2009 was the same as the win over IU in 2002.
