DMV: Greivis Returns to Lead Maryland Back to the Bright Side of the Bubble

    By Jamie Mottram | June 16, 2009

greivis-thumbs.jpgDMV is a daily roundup of District-Maryland-Virginia (mostly) sporting links.

Greivis Vasquez comes back for his senior year rather than being a late-2nd round pick (source: Draft Express). The Terps now return everyone except for Dave Neal, who may use blue-collar charm to maintain post-graduate eligibility. [The Sun]

With Greivy’s return, and the arrival of freshmen James Padgett and Jordan Williams, Maryland vaults into the top 30 for ‘09-10. [D1scourse]

Terps pull out of the Lance Stephenson sweepstakes. Odd timing. [The Sun]

Remembering how good Juan Dixon was at Maryland. [The Dagger]

Bobby Valentine is rumored to be a replacement for Acta. [Jon Heyman]

Amid rumors, Acta is left “twisting in the wind”. [Nats Journal]

A couple of my favorite Nats bloggers debut a Nats podcast. [FJB]

Joe Beimel’s beard gets a Fashion Ump ruling. [Big League Stew]

I think this puts MD much higher than 29. MD will have tremendous depth this year. Hayes will probably start again after the way he played down the stretch. I can see Milbourne moving back to 3 where he can be really good and letting the freshmen along with Gregory and maybe Burney playing the 4 and 5. Obviously, MD will still run a ton of 3 and 4 guard sets. I like Bowie, Mosley and Tucker off the bench and I really like have a couple guys over 6′6 in the line-up.
