‘Dan and Vinny Did a Really Dumb Thing’

    By Jamie Mottram | April 3, 2009

vinny-and-danny-dumb-and-dumber.jpgI’m no fan of Wilbon’s, but this excerpt from today’s column is gold and goes well with the movie poster submitted by reader Patrick Ottenhoff:

“Daniel Snyder and Vinny Cerrato did a really dumb thing Wednesday night and yesterday. They tried to dump Campbell, a strong-armed work-in-progress with a 16-20 record, for Cutler, a strong-armed work-in-progress with a 17-20 record. They would have had to give up, probably, three high draft picks to do it, picks they ought to use to surround Campbell with better players. Snyder and Cerrato, instead of nurturing a player they’d invested so much in, trashed him publicly. Fortunately for them, the kid has a degree of class and humility they don’t deserve in the least.”

In the end, with any luck, this fiasco yields a fanbase that rallies around its QB, and not a No. 1 pick spent on Mark Sanchez or some such. Looking at those two dopes, these are high hopes indeed.

You’d think after more than a decade at the helm, Snyder would stop treating the Skins like a fantasy football team.

You’d think wrong. The Junk Mail King fails again.

Woah, i made it in a blog. Thanks!

Let me clear something up, i never mentioned anything about the trade. I would have done Campbell and a 1st, but not Two 1st rounders.

I am just sick of everyone running to defend Campbell. It always the same thing: shitty o-line, too many offensive schemes, he needs more to to develop, etc. How long is this going to go on for?!

If anything, knowing so many offensive schemes should help him. There are rookie QB’s coming into the league that perform like Joe Montana compared to Jason “Deer in Headlights” Campbell.
People love to blame the o-line. The countless sacks are because he has no pocket presence, stares down his receivers, and can’t get rid of the ball.

Yes, he’s gotten slightly better every year. At his “getting better rate” it will be 10 years before he takes us to the playoffs. (Todd Collins won the 5 strait to make the playoffs 2 years ago) You are lying to yourself if you think Campbell would have done that. 13 TD’s in his fourth year? come on…Romo can have almost half of that in one game.

Bottom line is we surrendered a first, third, and fourth to Denver for the rights to draft Campbell.
Is he playing up to that hype? Hell no

If this trade would have went through, Denver would have gotten in total (going back to the first JC deal): 3 1st round picks, a 3rd, a 4th, and the player they ripped the skins off to begin with.

Vinny and Danny have turned this team into the laughing stock of the league.

Now that we’ve gotten past this Cutler thing … all of us Redskins bloggers need to start prepping our “NO PLAXICO BURRESS” posts.

This is what being Offseason Champs is all about, my friend.

So if Plax pleas and avoids jail time, I’m assuming we will hear that the Redskins are the frontrunners for him.

My Offseason Champs shirt is going to be worn out by July.

Let me guess, BagelBoy thinks we should sign him

So let’s see, a Big 10 team won the NIT and a Big 10 team will be playing for the national championship. I think someone owes the Big 10 a massive public apology.

/Yes, I typed this like 6 minutes after the game ended.

      /Yes, I have no life.

/Yes, I had Michigan State in the Final Four.

No. The Big Ten still sucks.

      EAST COAST BIAS 4ever!

Actually the Big 10 still sucks, except for Michigan State.
