Getting to Know the New $100 Million Man

    By Jamie Mottram | February 27, 2009

haynesworth-bowling.jpgSeeing as how he’s spent his entire career in the SEC and AFC South, many Skins fans may not know much about their latest free-agent prize. Sure, he’s one of the top players in the game and once face-stomped a defenseless Cowboy, but what else is there? Well, here’s what we learned upon perusing Albert Haynesworth’s Wikipedia:

“He often goes by the nickname Painsworth …

While a sophomore at Tennessee, he fought with a teammate and left practice, returning with a long pole looking for tackle Will Ofenheusle before coach Phillip Fulmer stopped him …

Arrest warrants were issued against Haynesworth in two Tennessee counties in May 2006 stemming from a traffic incident on Interstate 40. Both sets of charges were dropped in June ‘06 …

An incident occurred at a Titans training camp, where Haynesworth kicked his former teammate, center Justin Hartwig, in the chest, and had to be restrained by other teammates …

On September 9, 2008, in the Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Haynesworth was called for unnecessary roughness when he slammed running back Maurice Jones-Drew to the ground after a tackle. He was fined $5,000 by the NFL for this incident. Afterwards, when asked if he would be gentler during play, he commented, “I’m not going to be any gentler or whatever. Maybe I’ll just help them up.”

Some of that may seem to indicate character flaws, until considering he’s a defense lineman, then you realize they’re actually personality traits.

    Welcome to Washington, Mr. Painsworth.

I went to sleep last night hoping that the rumors were true and that Snyder would get him in the fold.

We have quite the big name defensive line right now and HOPEFULLY one of them can actually put a quarterback on his ass!!!
