Tim Gunn and the Wizards ‘Make It Work’
By Jamie Mottram | January 9, 2009
As dedicated followers of both the Wiz and Project Runway, this Onion piece resonates with our point of view:
Watching video footage of himself with Gunn, center Andray Blatche admitted that he was embarrassed when the chief creative officer for Liz Claiborne revealed that the material of his jersey was bunching up in the back when he jumped for rebounds …
“Thankfully, I found out that the top I was wearing was too long, which deemphasized the contours of my waist,” Blatche added.
I’m not sure why the Wizards were chosen for this. Perhaps it’s because, with apologies to the Bobcats, Grizzlies, Thunder, etc., they have the ugliest uniforms in the league. Or maybe it’s because the Onion loves Bulletproof. I know I do, and I also own that gold Zero jersey, so let’s hope it’s the latter.

Tim Gunn is a DC native, so that may be the reason for choosing the Wizards. And yes, their jerseys are undeniably fug. The Bullets were much more aesthetically pleasing.

I had no idea Gunn was a D.C. guy and “his father was an FBI agent under J. Edgar Hoover” (via Wikipedia). Carry on.
