Skins Winners & Losers, Matinee Edition
By Chris Mottram | December 21, 2008

We turn to the beautiful mind of Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. to find inspiration during this most difficult of times for Skins fans:
And when I was five, my favorite movie was the Gremlins
Ain’t got shit to do with this, but I just thought that I should mention,
You looking for divine and the little intervention,
And them birds don’t fly, without my permission.
This rings true on so many levels: only God can help us now; the Eagles aren’t moving onto January football unless the Redskins permit them; Gremlins fucking kicked ass.
Vegas has us as six-point underdogs. And if there’s one thing I know about sports betting, you always, always throw down on a home dog. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I’m predicting a Washington victory — we’ll probably lose by three on a last minute field goal just to twist the knife a little deeper. Jamie is at the game. We shall pray for him.
You know the deal: We’ll return later with Winners & Losers of our own, but, for now, share your thoughts and emotions right here. It’s therapeutic, really.

Jason Taylor = Winner?

After this year, there should be a Winners & Losers Hall of Fame which will have members Danny Smith and Shaun Suisam. Really? a 54 fucking yard feild goal attempt into crazy ass wind? Dude cannot even make a 42 yarder.

LeRon Landry – super happy fun winner. Same with Portis. He always seems like he’s moving like an 80 year old, then he’s going off tackle for another 5 yards.
Didn’t mean shit because of Atlanta, but nice win to make Andy Reid and the Philly fans feel like holiday jackasses.

Oh, it still meant shit, Larry. That was the highlight of the season. To ruin Philly’s season like that, after how poorly the Skins have played in the second-half, was almost more satisfying than making the playoffs and inevitably losing in the Wild Card round. Almost.
The win also means Zorn’s first year will end with a .500 (or better) record in the division and overall. Given that info in a bubble, it looks pretty promising for a team that was predicted to win 6 or 7 games.

DHall was a winner today. Guy was in lock-down mode. Give him dollars.

Yeah, that’s true Chris. Just looking at the immediate aftermath.
Fact is, if you’d put the +/- for wins at 7 back in July, few people would have taken the over. I do kind of think the year was a success because it showed the team can win without Gibbs/Williams. But the team has been winning in spite of Danny/Vinny, not because of them. If they can somehow keep Zorn into next year, and draft a couple impact guys, I’ll be happy going into next year. Gotta keep Blache around though, and hope that the young WRs amount to something in the offseason and we get some linemen. On both sides of the ball.

Winners:
LaRon – Crushing hits all game long.
Muffin Top – I can’t believe I’m calling him a winner, but he pinned the Eagles inside the top 4 or 5 different times.
LFB – Stud. Should be a Pro-Bowler
JT – Actually played well for once.
Losers:
Zorn – Bubble screen on 3 and 4 followed by a 54 yard FG attempt. Really?
DeSean Jackson – Showed up his QB when it wasn’t thrown his way then dropped to critical balls in the 4th.
