Skins-Browns Matinee Winners & Losers
By Chris Mottram | October 19, 2008

It’s almost game time and I have seven-layer dip to dive into, so I’ll keep this brief …
As we’ve done the past couple weeks, we’re gonna leave this premature winners & losers post up during the game for you to slang your knowledge in the comments section. It’s like an open thread, but we hate that term … let’s call it a thought forum. (This week’s edition is brought to you by preseason Jeff George circa 2001.) If you’re lucky, we may even plagiarize some of your words in our actual winners & losers post and give you no credit whatsoever! So please, comment away and go Skins.
P.S. Awesome.
UPDATE: About eight heart attacks later, and we got ourselves a nice little victory. And thank god, ’cause that would’ve been more brutal than the Rams game, given how dominating the Skins were on defense and on the ground, led by their un-leader Clinton Portis.

Can anyone name an FG attempt in Redskins, let alone football history that was as ugly as that duck as the end of the first half? Did it hit the the part where the upright meets the crossbar? Just great football.

That FG was disgusting. We need Portis to stop being the only productive player on the field (for either team) and START BEING A LEADER!
/will never let Adam Best’s douchebaggery die

The Ravens are winners, because they got your precious games to you on time in sterling fashion over the Dolphins.
/My Baltimore swag overruling my P.G. roots.

A signature win over Mighty Miami in Flacco’s young career that is sure to propel the Ravens to at least six or seven wins this year.

Clinton Portis is starting to look more and more like an MVP.

I need an oxygen tank to watch these games, seriously. Respect to Carlos Rodgers for killing mf’ers out there today.

London Fletcher must have been watching old LaVar tapes. Insane plays that I request YouTube replays of.

loser: Santana Moss - Roy Williams, not that one, the other one, broke his arm again and is out for the year. Tana doesn’t have his favorite player to burn deep later this year.
Winner: LFB - tackling machine

Loser: Danny Smith. There is no reason he should remain as special teams coach.

Winner: The new punter. Don’t remember his name off hand but I know it’s not Durant Brooks which is enough to make him a winner in my book.
Winner: Carlos Rogers. Laying some motherfucking lumber!!
Loser: Jim Zorn. He is allergic to calling big plays to open up the field and put teams away early. First 2.5 quarters were boring as fuck.
Loser: Adam Best, b/c the Junkies probably think that he’s a quality writer.

Winner: Carlos Rogers. Despite CP’s awesome 99% of a day, this was no Springs, no Problem. Rogers is turning into a total shutdown corner. And he hits like a crazy mofo. Chicks dig that.
Loser: Durant Brooks. Ah, so that’s what a real punter looks like.
Fabulous: Brady Quinn.

How about Fletch! My daughter has been learning about football the last few weeks. I told her to watch number 59, that he’s not the biggest or fastest guy out there. He’s just always in the right place. The color guy talked about the chemistry between him and Horton, how Fletch makes the young guys play better (nice to take a break from Moose, Goose, and idiot boy…thought the CBS guys were way better and far less annoying). Great win today! Happy for CP! #1 in the NFL in rushing!

Oh…one more thing. Think we could maybe do something about the fans obstructing the press box camera shots at FedEx? Seems to happen a lot (and usually on critical plays)…yargh! Maybe stand the camera man on a box or something.

Cam: That camera shit is so frustrating. Missed Moss getting into the endzone and one of the stops on that goal line stand. I’ve noticed hands in the way in previous FedEx games as well. It probably has something to do with the fact that they’ve put more seats in there than the stadium was intended to hold.

I just figured Danny boy was selling tickets for seats inside my television.
