Skins to Sign Another Washed-Up Star

    By Chris Mottram | October 14, 2008

alexander_shaun.jpgLadell Betts is expected to be out two weeks with a mild knee sprain. No big deal, right? I mean, we still gots CP (MVP!) and Rock, whose ability to run straight is a quality I admire. They can hold it down for a couple weeks until Betts comes back.

    Or not:

The Redskins have scheduled a visit Tuesday with former Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander, and, if the meeting goes according to plan, Washington will sign him to a contract, according to two sources close to the situation.

Look, I get the desire to have three active running backs on the roster. I guess. And that Zorn and Co. worked with Alexander extensively in Seattle. But, if I’m being frank, Alexander has always struck me as kinda being a bitch. And right now, it seems like the Skins locker room is a happy home. Everyone meshes well. It’s all smiles. But when you bring a punk bitch like Alexander into a happy home, shit can get messed up.

Aside from that, the bitch already worked out with the Lions, Bengals and Saints. They all passed on him. I’m assuming Alexander’s workouts were pretty unimpressive if the Bengals looked at him and said, “nah, you know what? We good with just Cedric Benson and Chris Perry. ‘Preciate ya though.”

If the Bengals can say that to Alexander, then we should be able to say the same with CP and Rock. At the very least, they better not sign him and then leapfrog Rock by putting Alexander at No. 2 on the depth chart. If the Skins do bring him aboard, it should be as the No. 3 emergency back strictly.

(The image you see there is Alexander attempting to figure out where he is after the Skins concussed him in the Wild Card game three years ago.)

UPDATE: Ugh. Skins offered Alexander a 1-year deal. Finding ways to lose to inferior opponents with turnovers and mistakes, signing big name players who are completely worthless … did we just go back in time like five years in the span of two days?

I flat out can’t stand this guy. Give the rock to Marcus Mason. Oh right…

I suddenly wish Marcus Mason was still on the practice squad.

If we pay that old fucker anything more than a cool mil. (which we will) for one year i’m gonna send a box of shit to cerrato. Plus we already have one Horizontal moving-underperforming- older man of god in ARE. Only one of those per locker room please.

Hey Mr. Irrelevant: It looks like the Skins are about to sign a Mr. Irrelevant.

Is it wrong that I am more excited that Ryan Plackenmeier (sp) is now on the roster?
