Pistol Play, Choking a Man While He’s Driving Both Not Cool With Clinton
By Chris Mottram | October 14, 2008
You’ve certainly heard the news by now that Pacman Jones is gonna be missing some time. The Commish suspended him today for at least four games. That’s a bummer for a Dallas secondary that could certainly use all the help it can get. But you’ll understand if I don’t shed any tears over it.
Our man Portis, on the other hand, is conflicted about the whole suspension. Here’s what he said about it on The John Thompson Show today, via Steinz at The Bog (audio not yet available on the 980 site):
“And I think with Pacman, to come back, to really have this opportunity was a golden opportunity for him, and all of the sudden it’s been taken away by the outside world. And now you’re under such a tight microscope that you can’t fall, or you can’t have a disagreement with a grown man. You know, I could see if it was pistol play or if he strangled him or choked him out while he was driving, but you know, if it’s man-to-man and we bump chests and push each other, you know, I don’t think that’s an altercation worth taking football away from him. But, you know, wrong place wrong time is all I can say.”
So, in Clinton’s mind, the line between a simple misunderstanding and a punishable offense lies somewhere between pushing someone and choking a man out while he’s operating a motor vehicle. Awesome.

Clinton is going to have go into Pacman’s fire and cool him off. Or something like that?

Doc Holliday is contemplating copyright infringement.
Wyatt Earp is set to counsel him against it.
