Skins Winners & Losers, Early Edition

    By Chris Mottram | October 5, 2008

    null

Jamie is back in NoVA, enjoying (hopefully) the game with our good friend Andy (better known here as Putts From the Rough), so he’ll be unable to do a post-game Winners & Losers thang. And I’m forced to the bar to see the game (stupid fucking Panthers hogging the TV), so I’ll be drunk post-game. So, in our absence, please use the comments section below to post your own winners and losers, or just to vent your frustrations. I’ll join you as soon as I return from the watering hole down the street.

We’ll be back with the real deal Winners & Losers post tomorrow, when we’ve sobered up. HTTR.

The Redskins are going to have to hire someone with a cart to carry around Zorn’s balls. 4th and 1 – portis pushes the pile 2 yards for the first down with the game and momentum on the line. Amazing. HTTR.

Oh and NO TURNOVERS! ridiculous. This team is the real deal – we’ve just beaten, in a row, the #2-#5 offenses, even with our defense banged up.

We won despite the refs giving them a free TD on that punt return. Amazing. What a game. The defense was just outstanding and CP continues to run with a mission.

Andre Carter gets a nod for his push on the Eagles’ 4th-and-one, and Baker gets one for his near-perfect shadowing of Westbrook.

      Also, YES.

Jamie got bombed drinking Todd Collins (Crown and Ginger) and doesn’t have much to say other than he hopes not to pass out at the family dinner with grandma.

Skins 4-1 and 2-1 on the road in the division!

      Winner: Todd Collins.

Loser: the ref who gave Philly a free TD.

Hey Steinz, rev up the Bandwagon!

Wow. Rams, Browns, and Lions next.

/tapes mouth shut, preventing me from uttering anything about the SuperBowl

Winners: All the redskins fans that were at the game (I saw maybe 50 other skins fans) and wore jerseys. We all took more verbal abuse than anyone should though seemed like we took it with class (i saw one fight but that was it).

Losers: Anybody from Philly or any Philly sports fan in general. Trying to intimidate skins fans by cursing, spitting, getting in their faces, but failing miserably (I had a 45 year old mom next to me who happened to be a skins fan and she wasn’t safe from any crude and insulting comments). The philly fans quit on their team midway through the 2nd quarter, and starting bitching about how they were gonna lose. Boo david akers, boo mcnabb, boo andy reid, show no class.

Above all, it was one of the most satisfying days of my life- hearing those filthy fucks complain and bitch all day and finally get their wish by getting their ass whooped.

4-1, and there’s still 3/4 of the NFC West to play!

Redskins beating Dallas and Philly in back-to-back weeks on the road is about as likely as Hip Hip Hooray making a resurgent return to sports vernacular…

      Wait a second…

LOSERS: Donovan McNabb for this post-game gem:

“There is no way that you can look at this game and say that, and not taking anything away from them, but there is no way that this team is better than us.”

LOSER: Durant Brooks. And not for the punt return for a TD, but for the way he tried to run after DeSean Jackson on the punt return for the touchdown. Dude, he ran like my little 2 year old daughter.

      Winners:
Randle-El (Backup QB) – Great sell on the end-around before throwing the cross body TD strike to Cooley.

Clinton Portis – Portis. Pockets. Straight. Great game all around. Did you see that catch he made in the left flat for the 1st down? Incredible!

Chris Cooley – This is his first big receiving game of the season. He’s been doing his job blocking and his finally getting on the highlight reel. Plus, he didn’t show us his penis this week!!

ZornStar – Stuck to the run heavy game plan and went for it on 4th & 1 at the end of the game.

The defense – Wow! Besides that TD drive in the 1st Qtr the Eagles couldn’t do anything. Let’s not forget that the 40 yards gain to set up a great skins goal line stand was because Horton forgot to touch WR Brown when he was lying on the ground.

      Suisham – Gold! 3/3 with FGs of 41, 48 and 50 yards

      Losers:
Randle-El (Starting WR) – dropped 3 important balls in the game. It was painful to watch. Seriously!

Devin Thomas – I’ve been a big supporter of Thomas, but I’m starting to lose faith. That offensive hold was brutal! He’s got to think before he does stuff like that.

Refs – I still don’t understand how they pick up that flag for block in the back on the punt return TD. I agree with the logic but I’ve seen them enforce the penalty in similar situations countless times.
