Dickerson Is Rec Specs and Turtlenecks
By Jamie Mottram | September 23, 2008
I’d like to thank ‘87 Topps for two things: 1) being the last great Topps football set of my youth and 2) reminding us of how great Eric Dickerson really is, and how ridiculous he looks.

I remember seeing a diagram of all the pads he wore — it might have been in a Super Bowl program. He wore just about any kind of piece of protective equipment that a player possibly could. You have to wonder if he wasn’t wearing so much equipment if he could have done even better (when he cared at least).

I remember when he played for the Colts, and how alternately amazing and frustrating he was to watch.
Love the rec specs. Much like zambonis, they never fail to make me smile.
