Countdown to Epic Fail: T-Minus 14
By Chris Mottram | September 3, 2008
With the Nats on the cusp of their first 100-loss season, we will countdown to the momentous occasion here after each loss leading up to the milestone.

On Jamie’s post about the Nats pathetic-ness yesterday, in which he made the horrible mistake of merely mentioning the team’s seven-game win streak, I left this comment:
What, no “jinx” tag? We weren’t to mention the win streak until it ended, dammit. Expect them to be shutout tonight.
Well, la-de-freakin’-da, look who up and got shutout last night. Hint: The Nationals. The 4-0 loss to the Phillies was their 20th scoreless game of the season, which is impressive in its own right.
To top it off, Jesus Flores, one of the few guys worth a shit on this team, was knocked out for the season with a sprained knee after Utley collided with him. Apparently, a sprained knee now requires a stretcher and an ambulance. Although at least Utley, who was called out, learned the hard way that nobody fucks with The Jesus. (Video after the jump.)
Epic Failure of the Game: Ronnie Belliard, Elijah Dukes and Will Nieves. After Lastings Milledge lead off the ninth with a triple, those three subsequently sucked just bad enough not to drive him in, thus resulting in the shutout.
