Doughty Resorts to Satire in Describing Preseason Game Against Favre
By Chris Mottram | August 15, 2008

The AP decided to whip up an entire story about how the Redskins will handle the “media circus” that they’re certain to encounter in New Jersey tomorrow night. Whatever. They’re going to play a preseason football game. I’m sure they’re all really going to give a shit about a few dozen extra cameramen, or something.
But, just as I was getting to the end of this garbage, Reed Doughty came to the article’s rescue with this brilliant quote:
“It’s definitely cool to play a Hall of Fame quarterback. It will be interesting getting out there with the gunslinger.”
What? Nothing about him being a kid out there?
In other Reed Doughty news: He really is our starting free safety. That is all.

Aren’t comments like that usually reserved for someone like Steve Spurrier?

In other, other Reed Doughty news: The guy’s apparently deaf.

Well, mostly deaf.
The latter part of the Doughty quote that was left off was, “We’re talking about Joe Montana, right?”

Well then, he’s the positive spin: Reed Doughty is the best deaf player in the Redskins secondary.
