    Milledge-Dukes Tecmo Bowl Showdown

    By Jamie Mottram | August 8, 2008

Lastings and Elijah have taken divergent paths of late — Milledge hit 4 HR this week, Dukes hit the DL for 4 weeks — but what they share in common is the love of a certain late-’80s Nintendo classic (from a recent Washington Post online chat that I can’t find on their site; emphasis added):

Herndon, Va.: Hey Chico, since you have access to the players and clubhouse, I was wondering if you could tell us who some of the bigger personalities on the team are. Who are the guys that stand out in the clubhouse as the player-coaches, the jokesters, the big mouths?

[Nats beat writer] Chico Harlan: The Nats have a bunch of good personalities on their team now, but few boisterous ones. The loudest dude in the clubhouse is usually Ronnie Belliard …

We’ve gotten to see a few pretty good Milledge-Dukes showdowns in Tecmo Bowl. (They play on Milledge’s laptop, thanks to an emulator system that makes old video games accessible via computer.)

Leaping high-fives to Mark Coale at Odessa Steps Magazine for the tip, and to Nintendo8.com for offering free Tecmo Super Bowl online so you too can be just like our favorite Nats.
