Lo Duca Packs Shit, Gets the Fuck Out

Farewell, douchebag. Just as I specifically requested two and a half months ago, Paul Lo Duca is leaving Washington. Better late than never.
The Nats cut him yesterday, along with Felipe Lopez (Jennifer must stay, however) and Johnny Estrada, both of whom I have no problems with other than their inability to play baseball well. The moves were made after Bowden failed to trade King Douche and Lopez:
“We tried to move both of them. That was our preference. When we got to the deadline today and just didn’t have any interest, we felt it was better to deal with it this way,” Bowden said.
No interest in a second basemen and a 36 year-old catcher, both hitting below .235 with OBP and SLG around .300? Surely, you jest Mr. Bowden.
But no, he’s for serious: He cut their bitch asses about six hours after the deadline, and about one hour before the team officially lost its ninth straight game. Lo Duca’s reaction?:
“I apologize to the organization and the fans. I’m a better baseball player than I played. To give me a chance to hook on with another team — big-time class act.”
Apology not accepted.
P.S. The Nats did actually make a trade yesterday, but it was announced at the same time as these moves, which is why it didn’t appear in our Griffey post. The blockbuster was Nats pitcher Jhonny Nunez for Yanks shortstop Alberto Gonzalez. Bowden said Gonzalez is a “.250-.260 hitter but can really play shortstop.” I believe that makes him the team’s No. 3 hitter by default.

This news is one of the few things that could actually make me smile about the Nats after losing 9 straight and getting swept by the Phils.

If the Nats had anything worth trading besides L-Millz and Dukes, I would’ve lobbied for pursuing Griffey.
As it stands, this team is dead, dawg.
