    Announcing TSB’s Weekend Editor

    By Chris Mottram | August 1, 2008

About three weeks back, I posted a help wanted ad here on Mr. Irrelevant for a weekend editor over at The Sporting Blog. After much deliberation, we have selected the man for the job: Tom Ziller.

You may know Tom from such internet sports-based blog sites as Sactown Royalty, BallHype and FanHouse. His focus, as you likely know, is NBA, but he has assured me that he can cover everything from NFL to Aussie Rules Lawn Darts. And he better not be lying, because the TSB audience craves Poaceae-based competition. All the fun starts tomorrow.

But shameless TSB pluggage isn’t the point here. Really, I wanted to thank everyone who threw their name into the hat and was so willing and eager to give up their weekends to serve the greater blogging good. Seriously, the response was quite overwhelming, especially considering I expected no more than four people to email me about it.

So, thank you sirs and mam for your applications, and rest assured that you will be kept in mind for any futures positions, or whenever Mr. Ziller realizes that blogging for 16 hours every weekend isn’t as glamorous as it sounds.

Sure, Ziller’s great, but how is he on paddleball?

I would have pictured weekend-Ziller being the one with the mustache…

Congrats Ziller on the gig, and congrats Chris on snagging him!

Really? Because you get used to the narcolepsy after a while.
