Shhh … Narcoleptic Adam Jones Is Dreaming of Hitting Grand Slams
By Jamie Mottram | July 28, 2008
In spite of the O’s being 11 games back and slow to deal Aubrey Huff (21 HR) and/or George Sherrill (30 SV), it provides great pleasure to see them win in New York. Hell, it’s probably because they’re dead at the deadline that tonight’s 13-4 win bring me such joy, but either way.
Jeremy Guthrie got a rare win (his seventh, which is a pittance considering his 3.49 ERA), and just about everyone hit, including home runs from the warmed-over carcass of Kevin Millar, trade bait Huff and future star Adam “Sleepy” Jones. In fact, Jones had a career night, including a grand slam.
So take a bow, you nodding-off bastard. You continue to be one of the few bright spots Baltimore’s got, which is still a few more than that other team in the Mid-Atlantic region.

If he takes a bow, he’ll faceplant. Horrible season or not, that Bedard trade looks pretty GD good right now though.

Sleepy Jones > Ryan “The Joker” Zimmerman.

The Bedard trade was highway robbery. Despite the numbers, this years Os team is playng with heart and hard into the late innings. Even if it doesnt translate into a higher number of wins and a higher than 4th place finish (which even looks to be in serious question now), it does speak to franchise direction and improved quality of management.
Amazing what a little competition 40 miles from you will do.

The Bedard trade has worked out rather nicely, especially if Jones starts walking more and Chris Tillman (3.44 ERA in 21 AA starts) keeps developing.

The sky is the limit for A. Jones. He shines on both offense and defense and adds to a talented young core group of players for the Orioles. Whats up with that profile picture though? I don’t think I have ever seen one of those where the athletes eyes were closed. Did they not have time for another shot or something?

I love me some Adam Jones and the Orioles feasting on some cooked Moose last night was pretty awesome. Thanks for the double A stats, Mr. I, the sign of a true fan.
Props to cheap ass MASN for actually putting a Monday night game on HD but the echo sound of the broadcasters was terrible. I had to mute the game.

Dude, the echo was killing me too! WTF? Glad to hear it wasn’t just my new TV.
