It’s Lindsay Czarniak Bobblehead Night!
By Jamie Mottram | July 21, 2008
I’m trying to think of an adjective to describe this, and the only one I keep coming back to is “weird,” though Steinz went with “brilliant.” Either way, it’s official: NBC4 sports anchor Lindsay Czarniak is kind of a big deal as she’s completed the transformation from being George Michael’s Sports Machine backup to having her own Bowie Baysox bobblehead night.

It’s not unprecedented for local broadcasters to have their own giveaways at local sporting contests (see: Buckhantz and Chenier), but what connection does Czarniak, a Virginian who covers NASCAR for TNT and D.C. sports for NBC, have to Bowie, Maryland, let alone the Orioles’ Double-A affiliate?
As far as I can tell, the Baysox just do zany stuff, like counting on creepy dudes to come out to the yard for a Li’l Lindsay (note: Mr. Irrelevant is kind of creepy). Inconveniently for them, Czarniak herself won’t be at the yard tonight. She was, however, in attendance last Thursday, and that must have been quite a thrill for all involved.
Next up: Amber Theoharis night! (Not really, but they might as well.)

Bowie needs a bobblehead hero. I can think of no better person to fill this need.

The mind boggles at the number of NC-17 level posts one could make about this.
