Luke Scott Introduces the Walk-Off Slide
By Jamie Mottram | July 20, 2008
On Friday night Melvin Mora did something I’ve never seen before, and, one night later, Luke Scott replicated the feat. Not by dribbling a longball atop the foul pole, but by launching a game-winner onto Eutaw Street and then greeting his teammates with a slide into home.
Though they have no shot at contending and should be unloading guys like Huff and Sherrill at the deadline, the 2008 Orioles are a lot of fun. I mean, they had 100-loss expectations and Kevin Millar as the Opening Day cleanup hitter. Yet here they are sniffing .500 with four guys — Markakis, Roberts, Huff and Scott — posting an .850-plus OPS and another — Adam Jones — establishing himself as the CF of tomorrow.
They won’t play into October, but they’re easy to cheer for, and that’s half the battle. And with the aforementioned in place and future star Matt Weiters on the way, the other half may not be that far off.

This season could not be going any better for the Os. Trembley and McPhail are a great combination and seem to be driving these guys to succeed.
Almost ready to purchase a ticket to a game and I havent done that in 5 years.

With all this being said, I see a 3 and 27 run coming up as well.
