    Greetings From Port City

    By Jamie Mottram | June 24, 2008

Apologies for the silence since Blog Show went bye-bye. I’ve been moving from D.C. to Wilmington, so all of our edgy, outsider-y content now comes to you from the great state of North Carolina. What does that mean for you, dear reader? Well, thanks to the interweb and DirecTV, not much. What does that mean for me? The beach, and the Seahawks (they’re all I’ve got).

Ill be seeing you guys this fall when the DTC invades Charlotte for the Skins/Panthers game this season.

All I ask is that before I arrive, that one of you 2 secure me one of those adjustable mesh hats with fake bird poop that simply states, DAMN SEAGULLS!

      Like this– http://www.flickr.com/photos/lotterymonkey/166498130/

That would look gangster with my fresh Campbell throwback, mesh shorts and bling-bling.

Glad you made it there safe. Now resume blogging please.

No love for the totally unaffiliated Wilmington Sharks?

Their roster looks like the names off of some generic baseball game.

If you had pictures of the pup in more of your posts, I think your female readership would increase.

I’d make love to that dog.

Oh, right, Otis is real cute and all when he’s frozen in time. Wait til you passout drunk on Jamie’s couch and that little bundle of joy jumps on you at eight in the morning.. That dog has no respect for a man’s hangover.

Y’know, you’re only 132 miles from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Plus, you’ve got the Hammerheads. Granted, they suck balls, but hey, a club’s a club.

Otis would be way happier if he had a Milo.

The good news is, you only have to pull for the ‘Canes when they’re winning!

And we should probably organize some sort of blog bet re: Skins v. Panthers.

Wilmington is a beautiful city to live in. That being said…

WillBrinson- I believe it was Mottram himself that said he didnt watch your beloved Caps until THIS season… WHEN THEY STARTED WINNING. The ‘Canes have beat the Caps in attendance EVERY year since the lockout! Including THIS year when you guys made the playoffs, and we didnt. Then include the fact that you guys have the most exciting player in the game. Ignorant asshole. Shut your trap. You guys wish you had the fanbase the ‘Canes do. If it wasnt for Huet, the Caps would never have gotten into the playoffs.

      June 25th, 2008 at 10:55 pm

oh yeah.. and you guys have been in the league for 24yrs compared to the 10 the Canes have, douche bag!

      June 26th, 2008 at 10:24 am

I’m from North Carolina, friend. And judging by your inability to use contractions or correctly spell douchebag (it’s one word … douchebag), you just should just shut your Yankee hole and go back to Cary.

Its a blog you dumb fuck. Who the fuck cares about contractions?! I am not an English major, nor a journalist. I dont give a shit about grammar. Its not the way people talk, therefore… why should I have to run my post through an editor? What a common and pussy way to argue back online. Instead of with FACTUAL points, you decide to correct my spelling and grammar. OH, and douche bag can be spelled with one OR TWO words. LOOK IT UP!

I have lived all over the 50 States. Regional biases and stereotypes never bother me. I live in RALEIGH… not Cary. I am from Fremont. Ever heard of it? NO?,Thats probably because its a farmers town. “Yankee hole” my ass.

Now, would you like to talk about the Hurricanes or Capitals… or are you gonna admit you know NOTHING about it?

I have never claimed to like hockey. Why?

      1. It sucks.

      2. Bandwagon Carolina Hurricane fans are annoying.

And, in summation, you are from a suburb of Goldsboro. Which means you drive to Kinston on Saturdays to shop at Wal-Mart. I win.

(Although as mutual NC State fans we should really put our hatred aside and focus on horrible college athletics.)

    17. packpigskinfan23 Says:

      1. Hockey is Awesome
      2. Bandwagon Caps fans are worse.
      3. Goldsboro is much bigger than Kinston and has 3 wal-marts of its on.
      4. NCState needs a new AD. I hope we can at least agree on that?

    18. Chris Mottram Says:

I’m quite certain that the NHL is thrilled to have any fucking fans at all, anyway they can get them, bandwagon or otherwise.
