Baseballs Are Hard, Faces Are Soft
By Chris Mottram | June 16, 2008
For those of you who still don’t think that Jamie and I are, in fact, two separate humans (looking in MDS’ direction), allow me to point out one major difference: I watched 12 hours of sports yesterday, Jamie watched zero. This, of course, stems from another contrast: Jamie is married with a baby on the way, I’m single with cirrhosis on the way. So, this helps explain why, during U.S. Open commercial breaks, I was watching a 17-2 college baseball game. And what’s the one thing you can hope for in a 15-run contest? Someone to get hit in the face, of course:
Man, good thing Robin Ventura was in the booth to let us all know that getting hit in the face with a hard object does, indeed, hurt.

When I’m a father I’m totally watching 12 hours of sports on Father’s Day.
