Nats Will Not Go 0-17 Against the Mets

    By Chris Mottram | April 25, 2008

felipes-j-lo.jpgExcuse me for a moment while I rudely interrupt the Wizards sights and sounds shitfest for some Nationals lovin’. They beat the Mets 10-5 last night, and unlike DeShawn who was simply tip of the orange flame hot, Felipe Lopez was blue flame white fire hot. He had six RBI, including a tiebreaking grand slam. Not bad for a guy who lost his starting job to Ronnie Belliard in Spring Training.

Lopez — or F-Lop or F-Lip or F-Lo or F-Pez, whatever — has started the last seven games at second base and is hitting .357 during that stretch. He’s been re-energized! Or something. Such a huge night, and hot stretch, deserves a special photo. So we shall honor Felipe by creepily posting a photo of his smokin’ hot wife, Jennifer Lopez. You have seen her around these parts before, but clearly not often enough.

While were here talking about the Nats, two more points of interest before Jamie continues his Verizon Center field trip giddiness:

    – Lastings be straight trippin’. Acta removed him from last night’s line-up for showing up late, and WaPo’s Svrluga describes him as “disengaged in the clubhouse.” We want to love this man, so these are troubling signs.

    – Elijah Dukes spent his off time picking up shit. As part of his community service, he put in 25 hours in a Tampa zoo cleaning out animal cages. Just say no to drugs, kids.

Some say “shitfest,” others say “best thing to happen to this blog in the history of ever.”

I actually really like basketball. I enjoy playing it and I love college hoops. It’s NBA basketball that I hate.
