Break Up the Nationals! Suck It, ‘88 O’s!
By Jamie Mottram | April 23, 2008
The Nats broke a three-game skid with a win over Atlanta, putting them six games ahead of the 0-21 ‘88 Orioles after 21 games, which is all one can hope for when one’s 3-4-5 hitters hit .225, .222 and .213, respectively. But it was John Lannan’s second straight lights-out performance, so that’s nice.
Really though, I’m just posting this as a distraction to the Caps’ boozy demise, though Chris’ll probably post about that later. I suppose it’s also just an excuse to show Jon Rauch’s neck tattoo and giant right hand.

PS: Mrs. Relevant and I are attending Nats-Mets at the Park tonight. Johan Santana vs. Tim Redding. This should end well.

I think you want the 1988 O’s to suck it, as the ‘87 O’s were mediocre, not epically horrible. Although, I wouldn’t have a problem with most of the late-80’s teams sucking it — with the exception of the ‘89 “Why Not?” team, of course.

My apologies, Coach. Not sure how I got that twisted.

That is some impressive blogging there — I think it was fixed by the time I refreshed the page after posting the comment. Well done, sir.
