    Boom Osby’s Presidential Endorsement

    By Jamie Mottram | April 21, 2008

College basketball fans, particularly Maryland fans, are going to miss Boom Osby and his roughneck game, ill-shaped afro and Cadillac jones. Sadly, his on-court skills aren’t enough for the NBA. Fortunately, his off-court persona plays well on camera. Case in point, this Geico spoof for a Maryland student body presidential candidate.

In case you missed them, here are Osby’s lines:

    “Jonathon’s gonna free the ‘fro.”

    These kids approve.

“He’s like the James Gist of gettin’ it done.”

    Is that a good thing?

    “Because Boom says so.”

    Good enough for me.

(Thanks to Blog Show intern/Maryland undergrad John Talty for the link.)

      Well if Boom says so….

      But What Would Greivis Do?

(Can’t Believe that’s not a Blog Show shirt. And I need a bell ring if it ever makes it).

I’ve been campaigning for a “Nobody Fucks With the Greivis” shirt for months… no such luck though.

Greivis was actually busy campaigning for the opposition, as seen here at the 35 (or so) second mark and picking up about 54 seconds in.

FYI: despite his quasi-decipherable cameo, Osby was able to lift his candidate to the W in the election.

Excellent background info, Capt. Obvious. Without you and others like you, we’d never get away with posting random stuff after doing zero research.
