McNair Throws His First Pitch as an Oriole, Promptly Injuries Himself

    By Chris Mottram | April 19, 2008

Recently retired Raven Steve McNair started his new career last night when he took the mound for his first time as the Orioles fifth starting pitcher. The oft-injured ex-quarterback threw just one pitch before straining his groin, tearing several muscles in his sternum, and sources close to the situation say he will require back surgery, thus cutting his first season short. McNair is expected to announce his retirement from baseball this weekend.

Daniel Cabrera came on in relief and allowed two runs over six innings of work. In what must be some sort of error in the box score because this is fucking impossible, Cabrera walked just two batters. The O’s went on to beat the Yankees 8-2.

Good news all around for area baseball - another solid performance from Redding, and Jailbait is on the DL to make way for Shawn Hill! With the way Nieves has been playing, maybe he can knock Lo Duca out of the starting lineup for good . . .

      Completely off topic here.

The other day I stayed home from work to smoke pot and play Madden online.

Well the damn EA server was down, so I was forced to watch some TV and movies.

      I watched:

Miss Rap Supreme (Great show by the way)

Flavor of Love 3 (TO’s ex girlfriend is in there, ahe is pretty hot)

And I also watched 2 movies that were directed by Daniel Stern

Celtic Pride and Rookie of the Year

They had a part of the movie that had Barry Bonds in it, and there in no way that guy didnt take steroids.

McNair’s retirement drew a collective “Okaayyyyy” here in Baltimore. And not the Lil Jon’ kind either, the one where you’re waiting for the person to say something else.
