Green Might Wanna Keep the Gloves On

    By Chris Mottram | April 16, 2008

Caps defenseman, and great hair icon, Mike Green should probably stick to the scoring (three goals already in the series) and forget about the fighting. He got into it last night with Philly’s Scottie Upshall. It was the first fight of the series, and exactly zero punches were landed:

Lame, I know. There’s probably a reason for that: Green never fights. The last time he dropped the gloves, according to the always reliable Hockey Fights, was on Dec. 31, 2005 in the AHL.

We must, however, give Green credit for stirring things up. The Caps were getting completely owned, so something had to be done. But based on how the rest of the game went, that “something” apparently wasn’t Mike Green starting a fight.

Not to be that guy, but it’s “Upshall.”

But kudos to you for noting that Greener had actually dropped ‘em before - Mike Wise biffed on that in his column today.

Upshaw, Upshall … either way, never heard of him. Thanks though for the catch.
