You do not need a journalism degree from anywhere to have an opinion on sports. To be a sports writer you do/should need a degree. Blogs can be entertaining, but so far have not proven to be a place that raises the bar in terms of journalism. The bar is set low enough already.

It’s probably safe to say that the NBA is all Wilbon really cares about these days, since that’s who his bosses in Bristol (who are now more important than his bosses in DC) pay him to cover.

Jamie would have to carry the Brothers Mottram in the NBA department. I’d guess his knowledge is on par with Wilbon’s and, well, Tony K’s knowledge of any current sports is laughable.

Wilbon’s totally right. You must have a journalism degree from Northwestern in order to have an opinion on sports.

I absolutely guarantee that the Brothers Mottram — and just about any other sports blogger out there — watch more sports, and follow the games more closely than Tony K and Wilbon combined. But yeah, their opinions are far more valid.
