Todd Collins Will Be Sticking Around

    By Chris Mottram | February 29, 2008

The offseason has already been filled with so much Dan Snyder/Vinny Cerrato induced bullshit, that news of Todd Collins signing a three-year deal with the Skins makes me way happier than the signing of a back-up QB reasonably should.

Quarterback Todd Collins has agreed to terms on a new contract with the Redskins, the team announced on Friday. … It was thought that Collins would pursue starting opportunities in free agency, but he opted to stay with the Redskins.

I like how the Skins article writes that “it was thought” Collins would pursue a starting job elsewhere. Um, brahs, he did pursue starting opportunities elsewhere, but no one was interested. I am shocked (SHOCKED!) that there weren’t any teams willing to sign a career back-up to be their starter at the age of 36.

What makes this news really great — other than the fact that Mark Brunell isn’t the team’s second string — is that we can continue to enjoy Todd Collins beverages while rooting on the Skins next season. In case you forgot, a Todd Collins is ginger ale and bourbon. It’s quite complex.

Update: Peace the fork out Brutal.

You’ve been analyzing a lot of “deciding” today. Terps decide to win. Collins decides to stick around.

I’m deciding to keep reading, and I’m comfortable with that decision.

TC and his blog live! For what it is worth, Madden 2008 has him ranked at 81 overall, while JC is an 83 overall.

I noticed that as soon as I posted this, SVP, which is why I immediately changed the post title. It probably still showed up in RSS as “decides” though.

Is Carson Palmer’s brother our current No. 3 then?

Palmers bro is the #3 in Cincy. I believe Sam Hollenbach from MD is our #3.
