Skins Say Hello Stump, Goodbye Earnest

    By Jamie Mottram | February 14, 2008

To quote Jason La Canfora, Earnest Byner “got railroaded” by the Redskins. And, really, why not? All he ever did was lead the ‘91 championship team in rushing and successfully coach the lot of Portis, Betts, Sellers and Cartwright during the entirety of Gibbs 2.0. But now, despite Zorn Star’s pledge that the running game remains the same, Byner has been replaced as the Redskins RB coach by ex-Seattle RB coach Stump Mitchell.

It is just the RB coach, and maybe Mitchell is a fine coach, but this is another example of Danny & Vinny doing the Burgundy & Gold dirty. First it was Gregg Williams and Al Saunders who were told to shove it. Then Russ Grimm didn’t get an interview. And now EB has a doorknob up his ass.

You’d think they’d lost their last four games to miss the playoffs rather than win their last four to make it in. I shudder to think what’s going to happen in free agency and the draft.

This is such bullshit. The cronyism was cute with the “Space Cowboys” of the Gibbs 2.0 era, but this is just ugly. Danny lets his buddy Vinny (who nobody else in the NFL would even employ) hire his old buddy Zorn who goes out and hires a bunch of his old buddies.

      Fuck this shit, save Ernest.

Stump Mitchell is also one of the worst coaches in Morgan State history, but good luck with that.
