Gary Williams Wins Despite His Recruiting
By Jamie Mottram | February 7, 2008
He may not recruit so good, but Gary sure can coach ‘em up, as evidenced by 600 career wins, good for the seventh-most in college basketball history.

Maryland beat BC behind General Greivis’ best game ever and now stand at 5-3 in the ACC after starting 0-2. They’re also No. 57 in the RPI after hitting rock bottom just before Christmas. Of course, I just jinxed their ascension.

That headline is the most intelligent thing you’ve ever written about Maryland basketball.

“Satisfaction in your job to me isn’t just getting some list and saying, ‘OK, that guy is rated top in the country. OK, we have to recruit him to be a good coaching staff’…Why not be a coach instead of a used car salesman.”
–Gary Williams
Plus this is kind of BS, How many “can’t miss prospects” are just overhyped HS players who caught on with internet nerds (like me)
Reminder:
Mike Jones was the “second best gaurd” in Lebron James’ class
Travis Garrison was a McDonald’s All-American
Jaun Dixon and Steve Blake were not hyped during their recruitment.
…how you like ‘dem apples?

Is it just me, or is Grevis’ twin brother John Leguizamo?
