Where Else Would Bloggers Watch XLII?

    By Chris Mottram | February 4, 2008

Tonight I ended my nearly decade long run without attending a hotel party (the last being when I was 17, I believe). As you may or may not know, Yahoo! Sports’ MJD, Deadspin’s Leitch, With Leather’s Ufford, and yours truly were all in Arizona this week. Plus the Bog’s Steinberg, but he was busy being a real journalist.

With the entire area overwhelmed with douchebags (and because we’re awkward in social situations), we decided to have our Super Bowl party in MJD’s hotel room. After all, he had a 42-inch HD television in there. Yahoo! money is good money.

It was a great time, believe it or not (and I’m gonna guess you’re leaning towards “not”). We had booze, pizza, wings and laptops. In fact, I was the only loser who didn’t bring a computer. As the visual evidence proves, the “party” varied from wild to quite wild.

MJD, Ufford, Leitch before the game:

Ufford during the game (Jack and Coke! Told you we partied!):

So yeah, it was epic. And as Jamie pointed out already, we were all quite pleased to see the Giants take down the Pats. And that Eli escape/catch by what’s-his-name was probably the best play I’ve seen in my short lifetime.

That’s awesome. Definitely glad MJD’s face was partialy blocked by the water bottle. His true identity must remain an enigma.

Then they stayed up all night telling scary stories, like what Boston would be like if the Patriots won.

A Super Bowl party without chocolate bobka is hardly a party.
