Five All-Time Dunks on Crazy Tall Guys

    By Jamie Mottram | January 10, 2008

By now you’ve probably seen Tyler Hansbrough’s dunk on UNC-Asheville’s 7′7″ Kenny George. If not, let’s go to the videotape …

In that spirit, what follows are four more clips of dudes dunking on dudes listed at 7′4″ or above.

    1. Truly lovely, it’s KJ scaling Mark Eaton and throwing down a one-hander …

    2. This is probably the most similar to Hansbrough-George of the bunch. It’s a young Shaq backing down Gheorge and unleashing the fury …

    3. It’s not so much Spud Webb “over” Manute Bol, but we can’t deny Spud and Manute’s inclusion …

    4. And, finally, Yao just gets mistreated by Dahntay Jones …

I could watch these all day. So who’s missing?

Update: How I ever forgot the 7′6″ Mormon I’ll never know. To make up for it, here’s SportsCenter’s top 10 dunks on Shawn Bradley.

Dahntay Jones is probably the biggest NBA con artist since Harold Miner.

Kenny George is destined to become a wizard.

Totally blanking, but wasn’t it Hakeem that KJ dunked on in the ‘93 or ‘94 playoffs? He went baseline and just took off. That, along with Vince Carter over Frederic Weis, are my two favorites.

Anyone under 7′4″ need not apply (though Carter over Weis is probably the best dunk ever).

      Billy Packer is so annoying

What about Kobe’s baseline yak on Yao?

Great list, of course, but I think it merits mentioning that Hansbrough’s dunk is secretly not that impressive. George barely moved and his vertical is just embarrassing. And I f’ing hate Hansbrough, so that doesn’t help.

Okay, so regarding 7′7 Kenny George–dude is not getting in the league, and if he does, he won’t play.

Yes, it’s true that you can’t teach size, but it’s also true that if you’re too slow to get out of the f’ing lane, you probably won’t be playing all that much in the NBA.

Size is great. But a morsel of speed is a requisite, too.

Can’t wait until Youtube goes HD. These VHS-quality videos hurt my eyes.
