Maryland football plays their bowl game against Oregon State tomorrow night, but that might not be the biggest game of the evening for Terrapin athletics. Sadly, their basketball team’s home game against the Delaware Fighin’ Blue Hens likely holds more value.
After losing Saturday to American for the first time since before television was invented (1926 to be exact), the Terps have fallen into the darkest depths of — um, what’s another good “D” word — despair. That loss came on the heels of another horrific home loss to Ohio … University, not State.
In this week’s local hoops poll, the Terps have fallen to No. 11, right behind Morgan State and just ahead of Hampton. It gets worse. Their RPI is currently 170th, right behind 1-10 Coppin State and just ahead of IPFW, which I think might be a technical institute that rents out office space to use as classrooms.
Tomorrow night’s game is the start of a four game non-conference stretch before ACC play begins. If they can’t get it together and earn a “statement” win against the likes of Savannah State and Charlotte over the next couple weeks, then they should probably just forfeit their back-to-back late January games at UNC and against Duke.

Don’t worry.
Win, lose or draw, Greivis will still be beating his chest like a damn maniac.

I’m curious, are you still THE program in the area if you lose to the entire area?

Ex-squeeze me, but IPFW are the Mastodons. We all know Mastodons fucking rule. Even Chuck Klosterman knows it.

I thought IPFW was Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne, like a sister college to “Ooey Pooey.”
