Joe Gibbs’ Faith Helps Derrick Frost’s Leg
By Jamie Mottram | December 16, 2007
The two quarterbacks in tonight’s Skins-Giants game are a combined 10-39 at halftime, so you know conditions aren’t good. Of course, with the signal-callers being Todd Collins (where’s my bourbon-and-ginger?) and Eli Manning, it’s more likely that weather’s got nothing to do with it.
Wind is a factor in the kicking game though, as evidenced by the weirdest punt since Pittsburgh and Miami played during monsoon season.
The Skins are up 16-3 (sound familiar?), but I’m pretty sure they’ll blow the lead and their playoff chances. Do they have to play the second half?
Update: Despite an 8-25 performance from the reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Washington hangs on to win 22-10. And despite all that’s transpired, they’re 7-7, a half game behind Minnesota for the final playoff spot. Next up? Minnesota.

Seriously, LaRon is a freaking beast. His nickname should be lumberjack, becsue he brings the wood all day. That hit and taunt on Plexiglass was awesome.

I do love The Ron, and he was all over the place last night, but that taunt cost the Skins 3 points.

Don’t forget about The Saints! Fortunately, they’re historically more cursed even than the Redskins, but they do have the edge on us for that final spot, unless my playoff math is faulty.

Yeah, the Saints and Skins are tied at 7-7, and New Orleans has a better conference record, which is the tiebreaker there.
Of course, if the Skins win out and the Giants lose at Buffalo and to New England, the Skins hold the tiebreaker over them.
Really, it comes down to winning. If Washington goes 9-7, they’re almost certainly getting in.
