Eighty-Six Ballplayers Get ‘Mitch Slapped’
By Jamie Mottram | December 13, 2007
‘Mitch Slapped,’ that just kills me. Wish I could take credit for it, but it’s the headline on CBS Sports right now.
Anyway, if you, like me, couldn’t be less interested in digging into the all-important Mitchell Report on your own, it’s easy to see the full list of players involved (86 and counting), however tenuous their link to performance-enhancing drugs may be. Also, Sporting News guys are live blogging as they read the 400-page document. Sounds like fun.
What’s the key finding so far? Jason Priestley was involved.

It brings such joy to my heart to see so many current and former Orioles named in the report. At least taking all those steroids helped us make the playoffs these past few years.
Wait, actually no it didnt.

Speaking of former Orioles, I remember now why I never liked Larry Bigbie as a baseball player.
That snitch better stay away from Bmore.

For real, MacG. From what I’ve heard on ESPN, Bigbie did B-Rob dirty. Real dirty. So dirty in fact that guys like Gammons keep bringing Roberts up as an example for why this report is a crock.

The thing that irks me the most is how much of a pass the NFL gets on PED use. I realize that the NFL started testing for steriods some 20 years ago, but the NFL was at the point MLB is now at that time. It just goes to show how far ahead the PED curve the NFL is as compared to MLB. HGH is now the big thing going on in the NFL and MLB, but I’m sure that HGH use has been rampant in the NFL for years and years. In fact, NFL players have probably already moved on to the next big thing that MLB players, by and large, haven’t even caught on to yet.
I just wish PEDs weren’t portrayed as just a Baseball problem when I’m sure that they are an even much bigger problem in the NFL.

We realize nothing can compete with a Texans-Broncos game, but this Report was KOABD.
